Dr. Bruce Hennessy, a gastroenterologist with the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, discusses UnitedHealthcare’s decision to require new prior authorization for 61 procedures, including colonoscopies. In response to provider and patient concerns, UHC has amended its prior authorization requirements.
